-We are throwing a birthday party for my sister and I (she is turning 20 and I am turning 18). I really like this guy that lives down the street(we're neighbors) We talk small talk. He always waves to me and asks me how I am doing, but that's all and occasionally small talk like about his flowers. I want to to invite him to our birthday party, but there are a few problems. He is 26, and we don't talk a whole lot. I want him to come because duh I like him, but also it would be good for him to meet some of the neighbors because he just moved in about last January/February. So guys, if a 18 year old would ask you (if you were 26) to a birthday party and you don't really talk a whole lot, would you be creeped out and think it was weird or would you go?Personally, if i were 26, I wouldn't be creeped out by being asked to a party by an 18 year old. Buuuuttt.... Being asked out is another thing lol.
If you're afraid to openly ask him, you could tell him that you want him to come and meet his new neighbors (this would eliminate any awkwardness). You could "get close" to him and talk to him by sorta being his "guide" at the party, introducing him to people and just hanging out with him. He would see this as a nice gesture, but that may break the ice, so to speak, and yall will be more comfortable with each other. And maybe if he saw you as a cool person, he wouldn't mind the 8 year difference? But yeah, I think this would be a perfect time to get to know him better and become stronger friends.Yeah it would probably be cool just don't make a big deal out of the fact that you like him, to the others. You don't want to make this about him in any way, but otherwise it should be a great time
